So why do we do it? Social networking? positive reinforcement? PC addiction? we could save some trees by turning off the PC you know... ;)
comments/jokes welcome as always, and good criticism too...

I know why I do it... ;) -- Create ART and sell it! | Posters | Photoshop Training | Postcards!

Because we are sadistic too (from the guy who freelances as a technical writer for a living--another fine "tortured" (and I don't mean Dick and his favorite water board) choice (GRIN)) Great image!

My only criticism is that the image looks oversharpened to me. The render itself is flawless and well balanced! I partly agree with you about "nothing". You should expect nothing when you decide to share your work, esp. not fame and wealth. ;-) But I did learn so very much by all the comments I got for my pictures and even more directly from the people I changed mails with. Last but not east I learned to know some of my very best friends on art web sites like this.

ALL of the above. :~) Very beautiful image.

Concerning myself : 1) I like the idea of building and exploring virtual 3D worlds. 2) wasting time, of course. 3) PC addict too, unfortunately. 4) meeting interesting people.

Thats great!

Great image as always. Here's my excuse - I can use my laptop in the lunch room but oil paints and an easel would not go down to well!

This is nice, the work and the question! But the answers are wonderful!!!

I agree with joshus_hund about it being way too sharp, but aside from that everything's gravy. As for your question, there are several possible answers. A) Attention B) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder C) Comedy "The need to create, my soul burns for it!" option D) My craving for the love and respect of nerds Haven't figured it out yet myself, but for whatever reason, I'm glad I do.

Agree about the sharpness; however, the total image is beautifully composed. As for 'why': the creative urge; recognition; learning from others; self improvement; sharing; and, many other reasons such as making new friends; the love of computer technology - etc., etc. and etc.

Beautiful view. And, for the question, I would answer nearly the same thing as Hillrunner :o)

Hah! I saw this and immediately thought of The Demotivators... a great parody on those ubiquitous motivational posters! I agree with joshus_hund and others regarding over-sharpness. Is your monitor a CRT, by any chance? If it is older, its focus coils may be starting to deteriorate, or the focus control may be out of adjustment.
Markal
Very demotivational ;) would like to see....Spread Eagle, Bend Over and Burnt Out...LOL Very cool idea man!!
