Description

Montreux (CH) - August 2006 ;-)) Under normal circumstances, I believe that post work should be discrete and kept to a minimum. Ideally, no one should be able to tell what I have done to my photographs without seeing the original file. Like all

Under normal circumstances I think postwork should be used as much as possible and with outrageous abandon if so desired, lol; especially when it is done this well. To me, a photograph is a mini "stage play". It is a tiny 2D image trying to convey a vast 3D message. Every means used to achieve that end are acceptable. Like a stage play, I think postwork usually adds the "visual punch" which helps create a mood, a connection, and a finished product that shows more than a static capture would. Of course I believe my images need every bit of help they can get because I am still a novice photographer (using novice equipment); but the concept is not invalid just because of my short comings, lol. The composition and saturated coloring convey a lot more than just a little boat on the water would. BTW - I liked the background used in the thumbnail a lot and was a bit surprised it was not used in the final image.

I think the amount of postwork being made to an image....depends solely on the image. Theres no right or wrong in pursuing great result if you ask me. This picture right here...im sure it looks great in its original version as well...but i absolutely love what you did to it. Looks far more artistic than just a photo. Well done! #:o)

If postwork ends up in a result like this... its justified in any case... like the "graphic" style of this one

What can I say... if I always postwork my pics. For me it is vital to add my touch. So very well done, it is superb !

Charles, you've taken this one from being a 'mere' photograph and moved it into a whole new artistic realm. What realm that is I have no idea, but I like it! :)
