Nice atmospheric shot. The "untouched" feeling might have been improved if you'd cropped or postworked the electricity poles out of the left hand side of the shot.

I wanted them in though. i liked the idea of settlement and homestead on the doorstep of wilderness (well as close as you can get to it in the uk)

Hi, I understand what you were going for but can't help but agree with Scrumpy. Although i am not a fan of "painting out" I would have suggested a crop that took out the houses and actually about half of the grass in the foreground (the darker section). This would have given a sense of wilderness and a wide angled feeling. Can suggest anything other than the b/w tones you have used though..spot on there I feel. Hope this helps? Rob :)

what i was aiming for is what i have posted. I cropped it like that because that is how i wanted it to look. sorry if it's not your bag.

I like it as it is - you can imagine yourself walking in the foreground towards that peaceful light and feel content.
