Description

Hi everybody, the Cologne Cathedral is a very impressive building. There are a few legends around it which fit perfect at this time of the year. Enjoy and have a creepy Halloween!!! Ralf Some facts: Overall length outside 144,58 m Overall width outside 86,25 m Height of the southern tower 157,31 m Height of the northern tower 157,38 m Build over area ca. 7.914 qm Window surface ca. 10.000 qm Places (entire) 4000 Places (stand) 2800 Places (seats) 1200 Steps of the Tower 509 The Devil's Bell Once upon a time the bell maker Wolf received a contract to make a new bell for the Cathedral. With great eagerness he started the work and soon the cast form could be broken out. Because the bell showed a visible crack, the angry master allowed it to be immediately destroyed. Spirited, the work began again. The second bell also had a crack in the very same place. Boiling with anger the master destroyed this bell himself and swore upon the third attempt to cast the bell in the name of the devil instead of the name of God. It terrified the workers to carry out this task, but this time the bell was successfully cast. It was added to the chime of the Cathedral and the master was triumphant, but only up to the first ring when once again the same crack appeared as in the first bell. Then the bell fell upside-down from the Cathedral. Since then the unlucky bell serves only to warn of bad weather or fires.

Das Bild ist fantastisch. Grortige Perspektive, allein schon den Vergrserungs-Effekt nach unten beim scrollen des Bildes finde ich umwerfend. Excellent work!!
