There is a certain abstract beauty, even to an engine block! Good eye, Jock.

Well whatdoyaknow, I got the same piston ring clamp myself, I recognize the allen key used to tighten said clamp. Back in the 70's and early 80's I was pulling 2 or 3 of these apart each week. Thanks for the ride down memory lane, nice upload jocko!!

Is it a shortblock rebuild? the #2 piston looks looks like a new replacement. Notice index notch on left side of pistons.

A pretty stereotype of a driving block, with unspoilable view on 4 openings of cylinders. Even the piston which is in position of maximum compression has the air in good condition, but why three others sont' they in the same position of exhaust. Do not forget especially considering the state of this engine, to tighten the candles well before trying to start. This 8 cylinders must be interesting to see as a whole.
