Description

I decided to show this very little and strange bug.. I think is a mixage of a prawn with big eyes(head) and mosquito body. Because i ever seen before, is very little 1,5 cm full size and I shooted on a door of a closet 2,5 m high in the kitchen. I stand a stairs and the tripod on the furniture of the kitchen, very dificulty position and I used also de 3 extension tube plus the macro 90 mm tamron. My mother now call me before delete the bug in my home and ask me if I want to the pic. and I took that.. the look is so strange

Hi, this is a fantastic good picture. This summer I have also photographed this insect. Although it looks like a mosquito, he or she isn't. It doesn't prick at all like mosquitos do. It is a Green lacewing (Chrysopa septempunctata). If you want to know more about this insect you can find enough info via google.

We see those very often here, and they seem to be very gentle creatures, and very fragile. You captured it excellently and with fantastic detail.

The lacewing family is really beautiful. At least as long as you don't look them directly in the face :-) Good job on this and I'm glad you didn't tumble with camera and all getting this hard to do shot.

OH!! Sweet little fellow and a very nice macro. This bug is harmless and likes to stay inside in the winter :) Here in DK we use to call it "gold eye"

Nice shot ! This is indeed a Green Lacewing . A beneficial insect that eats other bugs that trouble our plants . Catch them and release them on your plants to protect them .
