Batman's Batwing? If this isn't and altered then I am very curious. Maybe a small bird that just looks like a large object far away instead of a small obejct closer. I'm also going to take a guess at....a weather balloon or swamp gas..lmao

what is your camera model. if you have a slr digital camera, it may be a dust on the sensor :))

Well it is definetly behind the cloud, so it isn't dirt on the lens or mirror. Plus the 'split' side looks interesting too.... Also, going by the perspective of the cloud and tree top in the frame it looks to be quite large! Did you see it before the photo was shot? Was it after the film processed that you saw it? A shot that would surely get Art Bell would love to see! Did you ask about sightings in the area? Call MUFON and try to research reports from that location and day. Can't believe no one found this of interest... Oh...BTW...Beautiful clouds! Nice shot, great mystery capture! 5*****'s cause it got me awake! LOL! HuggerZ! Ariana

Hmmm my question toward this being a ufo would be the lighting, if it is indeed large and a little behind and above the clouds from that angle it should be pretty well lit yet its black.

Dirt or dust, either on the lens or the photo sensor if it's a dSLR.

I don't know what it's but it's very strange...

It looks like a bug. And I don't think it's behind the clouds (fortunately :-D)

to me it doesnt look behind the clouds - it is also too big for "dust on the sensor or lens" which is the main claim of sceptics. Either this is dirt (ie mud) on the front element or as Onslow said - a squashed fly or a living one passing the camera at the right time... or a bird further back... It can be explained without thinking it is a flying saucer. Do you have a non-jpegised enlargement of the shot? because the square blocks on the enlargement take away some of the detail...

I get these all the time in my pictures...except that it's bigger and shaped like a thumb.

No bug, no dirt or dust and neither fly squashed. My camera is new,so I to discount any possibility above.Thank you.

A UFO by definition is an UNIDENTIFIED flying object, It is an object it is flying, and NO ONE seems to know what it is. So it is a UFO, and will be until someone identifies it. Those are some wonderful clouds by the way. Great shot! Thanks for sharing, BJ BTW I'm voting it's those guys from Pluto coming to explain why it isn't nice to change some-one's planet status! LOL!

Interesting, but I too thought it looked like it could be bluebottle or beetle passing close, so the "split sides" might be motion blur. I wonder if you only noticed it on the photograph or were you aware of it at the time? Awesome cloud formation.
