Description

Well, my first ever Blender Scene (I have used other tools before :) ) The can is UV wrapped and the texture created using the gimp so this is completely 'Open Source'. Everything modelled in Blender 2.42. Rendered with Yafray. I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt :)

All right, way to go! I just a few weeks ago managed to do my first one, too... Blender's got a steep learning curve, but a wild ride, nonetheless. :) Good job on the map and texture, and I love the depth of field and the angles in the image. Nice lighting effects, too.

the silver on the can should have a higher reflectance and its overall specular should be way harder. it would also be realy helpfull if you created a background that added contrast so the robot hand is more visible.

Nice job. I still get headaches just looking at the interface (LOL).

Hey, that's pretty cool! I downloaded Blender few months ago but haven't ventured very far with it! What Incarandine said... and it tends to freeze up my computers a lot. Back to you... it's a clever image, I like it :)

Wow, good luck! Maximum fun, no cost:):) And no longer bothering with all that strange stuff like serial numbers, hardware keys (dont know if theyre used with Max, though;) and other unnecessary things:P

well spotted oodmb, when I started I had intended to use a specularity/ reflection map on the can, but I just got carried away and didn't come back to it :), I feel another version coming on at some point! @Silgrin, the version of Max I have is 3.1 and is hardware keyed, newer versions are software only, for me the upgrade cost to get newer lighting methods like GI or photon techniques would be the same as buying Max fresh and I'm sure my wife wouldn't be too happy at me spending that much on software..... :)
