Description
I stopped and took this shot as I returned to the station after a call late Oct 30th.
I guess I'm just getting old and it's gotten harder to get going late at night or early in the morning when the alarm sounds but at times like this when the city is, seemingly, quiet I just have to pause and thank GOD for my job. ....
It's not just a job to me. So many fortunate people get paid to do what they love to do and I'm one of them. To see the relief in the faces of people in distress when someone arrives to help them is priceless.
Uh Hmmm, sorry to have waxed philosophical....
Thank y'all for viewing and thank you everyone who has viewed other images of my gallery! This is a wonderful community of caring people.

Awesome shot and story behind it. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to get out of bed at night to fight a blazing fire and see the relieved faces once it is out and all is well or the sad ones you have encountered at times either. It must be a life full of emotion of all sorts. Lovely capture and thinks for sharing. :))))
