Description

Dude . . . blast it and save the City! Possible captions: Err, did you have to wait until the last second? There is gonna be some broken glass around here! Now don't miss! Daz Studio OpenGL screen capture with no post work, hence the light indicator and frame numbers. The background was done by a separate 5 hour PovRay render based on code by Tekno Frannansa. Why just a OpenGL screen capture? Nine hours and only 29% done lead me to kill the 3DLight render effort. Tip, suggest you do NOT add reflection to particale streams, even if it would make beam effects and explosions look more sparklely, unless you have a 4 core system with 16GB ram! All comments welcome, mcv

There are some things it is not wise to add reflections to, unfortuanatly DAZ dont tell us what they are and we have to find out the hard way!! ( Hair is one to avoid as I found out when Beta testing an earlier version. That used to crash the system!! now it just takes forever to render) Ace image Mike even if you can still see the directional lights in the cockpit LOL

LOL 4 Core 16 GB... Not me!!! But this is a very cool scene and I love your caption! You see, I'm so impatient, I make the renders as short as possible and do the postwork instead! Still I've had some overnight or 24 hour renders... Oh, the effects look great in spite of the screen capture! Beautiful work!

Great combo, and the meteor is pretty cool even as a screen capture. I hear you about long renders - I simply have no patience for them. That background POV Ray render does show it can be worth it, but I probably would have given up after the first 20 minutes!!

Lovely render, Mike. Buildings are great, with nice reflections. Funny that an alien want to save our planet ^__^ Nice asteroid flames/particles. I really like it!
