Thanks everyone! Yes, Walther - I tried to honor the negative space, like those amazing ancient Chinese ink brush painters did. And a lot of that effect in the positive spaces is caused by the diffuse parts of the wonderful low clouds themselves. In fact, it got so monochromatic that i boosted the saturation, using the post-processing inside Vue 6, again part of the effect you mention. Also used that post-processing to widen the view a bit to 80 degrees.
