so tell me, is mudbox superior to zbrush or are they just the same?

Nemirc: This is my opinion since you asked me. If you come from the Maya platform it is far easier to learn than Zbrush. I learned Zbrush as well but it was a steep curve as the interface on Z is quite complicated. MudBox is a joy to model with and I can finish two very detailed headstudies in a day. The tool set or "brushes" are intuitively based with adjustable falloff curves and advanced features like the ability to follow the surface normals of your poly obj. Instead of the projection master concept which Z employs with Mud you can add details with alpha maps in real time. It is a much, much faster app for a 3d artist coming from Maya.
