Description
One of the most beautiful and friendly cats I've ever encountered, but since I had to stop petting her in order to take her photo, she was definitely angry at me and felt rejected. She was rubbing up against me, purring away and poking her face into mine and having a jolly old time. But, reluctantly, I had to stop and do my thing, rejection or not. So what's a photographer to do? I'm not a cat expert.
Incidentally, this is not my pet, she lives about 3/4th of a mile from my place (attention: Zacko), and wanders about the street unattended, unrestrained and unrestricted. If I had a gorgeous kitty like that I would never let it run around outside all day, or even all night because of the danger of automobiles and kittynappers. Especially so since it's a super friendly and loving feline, which is an extreme rarity among cats vis-a-vis strangers.
Anyway, although friendly, she was most uncooperative and refused to pose for me. She just preferred to sit there and sulk. So I did the best I could. The photo shows her gazing at my arthritic knees as I was crouching down to take the first of several shots. This is the best of the lot as far as being able to see her face.
Oh, and I hate the name "Tortoiseshell" for that variety of cat. I see very little similarity to a turtle shell. The name should be something else, like "Palomino."

My kitty gives me that look when I step on him. Of course most of the time ts his fault- he's got a foot fetish. Along with a "dark staircase" fetish.
