Description

Well. I really intended to upload this a bit sooner after our camping trip in July, but obviously haven't gotten around to it until now. We camped in Plumas-Eureka State park at the group site of Camp Lisa. And what looked to be a short hike (it was only about 1.5 mi one way) turned out to be a much longer hike due to the terrain. Especially given that all of us there had children no older than 10, most under 6. The hike from camp to Grass Lake not only was 1.5 miles one way, but the trail also climed about 600 feet vertically which made it tiring for my oldest son and rather exhausting for the younger at age 3. He was a trooper though and made it about halfway up on his own with me carrying him only on the steepest parts. However he was so tired on the way down I had to carry him nearly the entire time. At least it was all downhill. lol Might dig around in my photo collection and see if I can find some others to post. Haven't uploaded the ones from the trip last weekend, but hopefully some of those came out well. The Camera's a Sony 3.1 MP camera...no idea on the specs to put down in the area Rendo has for it though. lol John

In the Alpes they calculate a mountain hike not by miles or kilometers but by height difference. One hour (for adults) for 900 ft roughly. Upwards and downwards. Semms to be the same over on your continent g
Great shot, looks like a lot of fun being there!

Truly beautiful and such a magnificent panorama. I like the contrast between the children, obviously so pre-occupied and the sheer beauty of the surroundings. Excellent John! Steve :o)

Dear John, Our Exchange server is down so e-mail is out the window and my e-bot's are standing in line. I found this just by snooping!! The lake really looks pretty!! The distance won't get you, but the vertical will do it everytime! I had to laugh at THE Boss when he talked about carrying both of his boys out of a deep Bryce Canyon trail. That's been a while back - his youngest is now older than me. You've a good daddy!!! Love, Meredith
