It's been a while since I uploaded anything here. I have to apologize but I have not had time to finish much lately. Anyway, this is Lilith, a character from http://pheonixflyer.deviantart.com/ For this drawing I was given a name (Lilith), a description (she wears corsets) and a little reference (she had green eyes, white skin, long black hair...). But that was more than enough to put my mind to fly since she shares the name of an important character through history. See, the most ancient reference to her that I know is that Lilith was some sort of angel/avatar/helper of Ishtar/Inanna, the Sumerian Mother Goddess (associated with love, fertility...). Later there are references associating her with seducing men and killing small children, in other words, she was some sort of vampire demoness (some say the mother of demons (lillin) , or at least of succubus and incubus. This because the root "LYL" is night in pre-semitic languages). Talk about fall from grace? Other sources claim she was the first wife of Adam, an equal to him (as she was not created from him like Eve). This made her "rebellious" and by her own free will abandoned the Garden of Eden (before that she shouted the name of God which as we all know is the ultimate source of power and a serious offense), and became the "partner" of Samael (Satan). To this day Lilith is still seen as a powerful symbol, but I don't want to get into details. Anyone read this far? If so, give yourself a cookie ^_^
