Description
Taken with a Celestron 80-WA (400mm f/5) also known as a "Short Tube 80". This is a 35 minute exposure on expired Fuji Super G Plus 100 print film. I found a phenominal deal on the film - 20 rolls for just 5 bucks :)
I've taken many shots of this galaxy, but I think this is, by a pretty good margin, my best effort. The optics in this scope are pretty cheap and the result of that is evident in the nasty blue halos around the brighter stars. Some levels and curves in PS was done.
Thanks for looking.

Nice work. Even the vignetting that the telescope optics cause has worked well here. Were you working at prime focus or using eyepiece projection? I use a Baader Fringe Killer filter to get rid of those blue halo's. It works wonders, makes everyone think I have a full apochromatic scope when all I have is an Orion version of your short tube 80.

Love this, I can just about make out the faint blob through my Binoculars. So to see such detail is fantastic!
