I must have chosen Renaissance Man as a career option. I paint, draw, sculpt, write, and do photography.
Or put less charitably, "jack of all trades, master of none."

The joy of the creative life is there are no standards, no goals, no limits. Just do whatever you feel like doing to the fullest extent of your skills, facilities, faculties, and creativity.
Of course, it helps if everything is on hand, working, the Muse is making regular deliveries, and you're not tuckered or psyched out from your day job (or in my case, the overnight job).
I've been exhibiting at SF convention artshows since '76.
Starting in '86, I've been writing supplements for role playing games. You can find a list at http://www.pen-paper.net/rpgdb.php?op=showcreator&creatorid=2327
The best known is THE ULTIMATE POWERS BOOK, a treatise on comic book superpowers. You can find it on EBay or download it from the web.Â
As for photography, I'm using a 1976 Minolta SLR, a pair of 1.3 Mp Sanyo digital cameras, and an 8 Mp Canon S5. My computer is a HP Pavilion 4550Z, vintage 1999.
And I have webbed toes.
So does Dan Ackroyd, Madeline Stowe, and one of the Dixie Chicks. Ackroyd and I share the same attitude, "The toes prove I'm a mutant."

Very beautiful portrait, David. Nice work!!!

well done she would look in a victorion dress with that neck and back ,the look over the shoulder is perfect

Nicely posed, and the natural light suits the image. It would have been interesting to take shots with and without her glasses.. as I think Joleen is one of those girls where glasses can enhance the 'beauty'.

When girls went shopping... ^^ Great effect in the movement. She is a natural beauty IMO :)

Dear David, Really nice shot and great use of natural light. Whenever I can, I try to always shoot with the available light. Which means even when I'm just out shooting flowers and things, I've got to trudge around with a tripod. The woods are so thick here, that the shaded areas are really dark. AND - of course she's buying things!! That what we girls do!!! Excellent work!!! Love, Meredith

I agree with tigertim... absolutely beautiful, with or without the glasses :-)

Well, I think the image, cropped as in the thumbnail, would be more interesting. It would have more, I dunno... mystique? about it that way. Oh, take out the door handle also. Agree on the lighting. That is spot on.

A great portrait in the style of the old master painters. The only nit I have is that you should clone out the handle on the door. It distract from the dress flow. But still a super portrait. grvdm
