BIO Hi, I am Gun Legler from Sweden. I live together with my cat Simon in a little village near Gothenburg On the outside I am old, but young inside :-) For so long I can remember, I have enjoyed expressing myself through any kind of art or craft. Until I was 40 I worked as a child psychologist and pre-school teacher, but after that I said goodbye to my profession and began studying at an art school. There I stayed for four years, mainly learning Graphic art (etching, dry needle and linoleum cut). I was a lousy oil painter, that medium did not fit me at all, watercolor I liked better. For many years I made collages of different kind, watercolor and textile. I grew up with a mother that sewed and a father that built violins, so I early fell in love with textures of many kinds. I have now abandoned making textile collages, but I realize that I work much in the same way with my computer art. I take a piece here and a piece there and try to make a whole of it. And I am madly in love with textures of all kinds, I can sit for hours just playing with different colors, textures and filters, making backgrounds just for fun (and for upcoming images). I work very much by intuition when I make an image, experimenting wildly with layers, textures, color and light. But the form is equally important, thats what Graphic school taught me. I have seldom a clear inner image when I start creating, it is more a feeling I want to express. The process can be quite unconscious to me for a long time. The image gradually takes form, and become clearer to me. What I want with my images is to reach the feelings of the viewers, to make them look into their own inner being and respond in any way, regardless of which feeling is evoked.

I am Gun's daughter Lena (zitalena@gmail.com). I am so, so sorry to tell you all that mom passed Tuesday morning, Feb 8 2022, Swedish time. No panic, no pain, no regrets. So peaceful. I tried to get a message about this on my moms latest picture, but now I can't find it. But now I have her computer and can log in. Please email me if you want. Thanks to all. Mom really loved the community!! Her gallery will live on. I have changed the address to mine, because me and my brother really would LOVE to keep her gallery open. Love to all.

Lovely. She could be sad, or bored, or fascinated with something, I can't decide. She changes by the moment. Wonderfully expressive. Well done.

The eyes have it! Not sure about the necklace, though. Was this painted from life or a photograph?

beautiful, but sooo sad. I hope it is turned quickly into joy. Is this a painting with the 'traditional' brush and paint or computer painted? I love the texture of the piece, makes it stand oout from the usual portraiture. Excellent! Myke Morton

Gun..Your Talented In Every Artwork You Produce! This Portrait Is Just Perfect And I Would Really Like To See More!!Margana
Without seeing the original it's hard to adequately judge just how much of this is you and how much is the original photo.I wish I could see that...But regardless, the compo is perfect,as is the use of light and shadows. Her expression is perfection,as well...definately the kind I would look for from a portrait, because it is mysterious and enigmatic, and the viewer can then bring his or her own impression to it...Portraits are interesting things. There are portraits done to make the subjects feel good about themselves, and then there are portraits that are truly fine art. That's what you have here. It's like 'The Girl With the Pearl Earring'.It's 'fine' art...art that makes a statement about who 'you' are as an artist, and more than simply making something 'pretty' for this girl or her family. You did a beautiful job here,Gunsan. It's timeless, elegant and wonderfully executed.I hope you'll do more.-M :^) PS Sorry for the edits.I think my first sentence could be misinterpreted.I think you probably had a very generic photo and then you really made fine art out of it...but it's hard to know without seeing the original, just how much you brought to the table, here.I suspect,it's a lot...Hope that clarifies.-M :^)

Superb as ever. it's not this image I'd love to comment upon. it's not the colors or texture in your works that make me stop. there's something else, definitely on the surface that keeps me gaze at them. most probably you know a secret way of conveying your innermost feelings or someone just leads your mind and hand.

Very soulful picture, love the lighting and colours, really great.

I think you have done a wonderful job here! Her eyes, along with her overall expression, seem to portray uncertainty of who she is in the presence of one in authority, and a sad feeling of loss beneath. A very appealing, whistful image expertly created! Well done!
