Description
Introducing layered materials. Layered materials allow more control over surfaces than mixed materials, they can be placed over another layer depending on the usual slope/altitude and orientation controls but a lot more precisely, with very effective blending and you can add very subtle layers by choosing a low alpha opacity, or create contrast by bumping up the alpha opacity of the layer. This creates very interesting variations on the surfaces, like in this render grass letting the underlying rock texture show on some parts, or the snow layer that is so thin over the rock that it looks almost like frost.
Very terragen for those who know this program.
This is an imported Mt rainer DEM ( thanks to 3D World), with painted Xfrog pines.
