From innocence, the teens, man hood, the joy of parenthood, success, and to reap all of life's rewards with retiring and becoming a proud Grandfather; I feel truly blessed! Sure, there were many unwanted moments along the way, many of which, time has not erased. Some so devastating that I am amazed I have survived. But, only one wish I have made, and only one wish has been granted, "to be Happy"! Delusional and in denial, maybe; But, I'm glad I did not wish "to be Miserable"! :)
BIO
Someone told me I'm 57 (Now 62) and single. Really? I have always been a child at heart. So it is easy to see why I prefer Faeries! I did not need Peter Pan to convince me to "Never grow up!". Unfortunately, that's not the way our species. So on the exterior, I had to. But, deep within, my child remained. I prefer to be positive, supporting the soft, sweet, and gentle. I paint the world in that light. I'm not blind to the horrors of the world, and I stay sharp to the perils that confront us all. I simply do not allow that to alter how I view the world. I believe "Everything is beautiful", "Lead by example", "Love thy fellow Man", and possibly the greatest truth of all, "You can be what ever you desire, as long as you believe and pursue". I have always love the arts in all categories! I have palyed the guitar for over 45 years and have written over 100 songs. I am a minstrel and enjoy sharing my gift of song. I have dabbled in the visual arts since childhood. I won 2nd place in a High School Architectural State wide contest, and wanted to pursue that field, but somehow got sidetracked. The Sixties! During my middle thirties, I renewed my interests in the Arts and studied most of the Master Artists of oil painting, but struggled with its application. It was during my profession as Programmer Analyst, that I was exposed to CAD systems and its use in design, and found the Media right for me. I started with TrueSpace and CorelDraw starting in the early 90's, but it was not until I retired that I was able to give Art the attention it requires! I truly enjoy Poser and Vue and started to work with these tools in earnest in 2002. But I owe my biggest inspiration and push to Renderosity and all the Artists herein, regardless of their skill levels and talents. This community provides a place for expression and a shared interest > The Love of Art! Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I hope you enjoy my images. Hugs, Dennis :)

I'm with you all the way on "Bringing the Westerns Back"!!!What a concept. I love how this image draws you into the warmth of the mood set here. Also you can travle beyond the feeling through the door way and see a man appourching. Makes you wonder what has gone on with him. Where's he coming from? Then you see the beauty of the world behine them. And you created an image that makes you mind even travle further to know the rest of what lies in this history. Awesome. Excellent work to say the least.

Oh Dennis, This is very good, and you are right about more westerns. I wish I could do a lot of these models. I will settle for my less complicated Bryce, I guess. I do love your work. Thank you so much for my birthday thoughts you sent to me, and also, for all the comments on my gallery. For taking time out to look at my silly pics, a few BIG HUGGS from...Silkylady...

Dear Dennis, The real "General Stores" I guess mostly belong in movies, but there is still one around that this reminds me off. It's on a little farm to market road north east of Columbus, Texas off IH 10. I stumbled upon it one day while coming back from San Antonio to Houston. THE Boss knew a place a mile or so from it - a farm house - that makes the best sausage I've ever had in my life!! I'm not that big of sausage fan, but this was really unique!! And on the way back to the freeway, we stopped in the old general store and I felt like I'd taken a time machine back a hundred years or so. And it was REAL - it wasn't something created as a tourist trap!! Your scene is so complex and so rich in detail - it must have taken forever to get everything exactly positioned in the right place. And I can't image the render time!! A really excellent job that brought back a wonderful memory!!! But then - that is what art is supposed to do - generate emotions!!! Love, Meredith

Howdy pardner! What an inspirational image here Dennis. Really makes one long for the simple days when life was so much more slower. Of course, there is always a Black Bart type to spoil it for the simple townsfolk but then maybe this guy is all right, although the gun and cigar wouldn't make me want to trust him right away. Anyway, Mere is right. This must have taken a very long time to setup and render. Major Kudos and a big double thumbs up here my friend. Outstanding image! Best to ya from Dave :^)
