I think they should have called the contest "Wake the Judges"! LOL! I stayed far, far away from the contest this year and I'm glad I did, but I wouldn't pass up and opportunity to hit the pubs with ya', Calum! LOL! This is remarkable as all your work is and it's both creepy and light-hearted with the flavor text (although, we all know he's going across the street for some free ale). Fantastic level of detail, everything is done to perfection, and I can only say that I am bewildered once again! Outstanding work, Calum, it's a winner to me!

I'm with Shardz, I should have learned my lesson last year and stayed away. As usual the contests winners here at Renderosity leave me slack jawed and stunned but I've grown to expect it! I really like this piece and I thought it would place high. I guess we'll have to learn the fine art of "dumbing down" our work. Great job on this piece!!!

I've gotten to where I just enter as a way to test/improve my work... becase while mine isn't as deserving as some... I do think a lot of great images are passed over. But alas... art is in the eye of the beholder. Great work.

Awesome. So this is the piece you got your avatar off of. I take it they finally picked the winners. I'll have to check the front page. My submission was close to your idea. I had the grim reaper playing an accoustic guitar... I thru it together in a couple hours - since I'm still learning how to, my picture did not even come close to my imagination - I've got to get those 2 on the same page. Good try, there is always next year.

Yes, definately one of the top entries in my book! He really turned out great. Don't take it too hard, art is so subjective, you know that your stuff is poster-worthy, and this would make an awesome poster, heavy metal T-shirt, album cover, book cover, etc... Keep up the great work!
