I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

great shot
Zeldie
I think it's VERY funny! And not a bad macro at all! I like the DOF and the ISO levels do not bother really. So... Quite a cool shot me thinks!

I still think you did a great job, even if you aren't satisfied with it. You sure made me laugh. My dad has these little flies in Florida. When in season, they fly together and everything. Talk about horny..Aloha

Excellent capture and it is evident to see that you follow in the footsteps of the masters and very noble to give credit. Excellently executed and presented!

Beautiful photo! Looks like real life where the female is pretty bored and just taking this, and the male looks humpified and horny! (Don't think humpified is a word)- Very cool photo- LOVE the colors and looks almost National Geographic!!) Excellent capture!

To quote Piet,"noble",indeed...LMAO at this brilliant capture,Kai.You certainly caught them 'gettin' busy'...lol.And it's wonderful that you defer to others you admire. That's an admirable quality. As I said to someone else tonight, all great art stands on the shoulders of others.Bravo to you on this most wonderful capture.-M :^)

inshaala
you animal pervert! crawling around in the undergrowth on your belly just to watch flies have sex! i shall be sending some men in white coats shortly ;) Great shot btw - they almost look like half animal half machine - their upper body looks like it is made from metal! Nice concept as well shown in the composition/title/"activity". yes it would have been amazing to get a better dof on their wings but that is a minor consideration :)
Zacko

Grin - got no qualms with this shot - it is way better than what you give yourself credit for. And it is level with Jeroen's work.

Haha so you DID upload it, eh? Great shot, I like it, and the fact that you couldn't zoom in very far gives them a very "minute" feeling. Great shot :-)
