Oh, this is sweet! Nothing here to "have at"! Great job! (But I'd still like to see something with the pirate!)

Stain glass lighting looks quite good :) To improve a bit of realism, maybe put a small bevel on the windowsill edge and maybe reduce the bump map scale on the window sill. I like what you've done for a theme - good stuff :)

Fun and original image, i would say maybe reduce the lighting a bit. Try to concentrate the light on the little mouses more. :)

The window sill is just a Bryce cube, so it's a little hard to bevel effectively, however, maybe I can model something. I can certainly rachet the bump down a hair. I'll see what some small spots might add to the lighting of the mousies ... Thanks for the comments.

You know, I figured out what it is I really like about this picture. It has a certain charm and warmth to it, but you really managed to infuse a good heart into the picture regardless of any critical aspects I've mentioned in forum. It makes me happy, and that's good art IMHO.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I decided to rework the piece a bit, and focus in on my mice. I hope you all still like it.

It's cute. I'd add two more lights. Something to fill in the shadows a bit, that way the main light can be turned down as well and seem less harsh. A quick read of "photography lighting" on the internet should give some real world ideas that can be applied to render scenes. Background texture could use some more resolution, it's pixelated and has quite a few artifacts. Might need to import it into a 2D program, scale it up, and paint over at a higher res for use in your render if low-res is all you have on hand for it. Dragon's mouth should also match outside mats if it is supposed to be a sculpture.

The dragon is a blue glass sculpture with gold tipping. So, the claws and mouth, wingtips etc are gold. There is also a gold filigree on the base. The image for the window should be large enough (it's almost 3000x3000), however, I am going to re render it with less reflection and specularity. I'm adding a few more lights (there are already about 6 in the scene), and will repost when it finishes rendering (which should be sometime tomorrow).
