I understand facing the holidays without someone that has always been there to share them with. Unfortunately, we are in the same place having lost 3 immediate family members this past summer and a possiblity of another passing before Christmas. But there is a solitude that is consoling in the knowledge that these holidays are here for us to appreciate the things that remain and the memories of those precious times we have had in our lives. Great shot. I understand also, living in the desert makes water very compelling. :-)

Lovely capture and hope your Holiday is more bearable than anticipated. Just enjoy the fresh air and reconnect some more with nature it always helped me when I lost someone dear. Again, Excellent capture!
