How wonderful this is. When I was young, my father and grandfather promised one day I would visit my "homeland." My grandfather had come to American at the age of 17 to be a cowboy at the turn of the century (about 1903 I think) but ended up settling in Ohio with a new, Canandian, bride) I was raised by my father, one of 7 kids, in the Victorian manner along with my 27 cousins. We were all to visit our homeland to keep the traditions and meet the family left behind in Britian. Unfortunately, one tragedy after another prevented that but I was able to send my daughter Hej to visit my cousins when she was 12. 3 months with the countryside and attending a private school there gave her the experience I still yearn for. I love thinking about what it must be like to live in a place where history extends further back than a couple hundred years and where structures more than 50 years old are not razed and replaced with something sturdier and more modern... Lovely shot. I really love looking at this. Maybe someday I will make it to England and Scotland and feel as if I've made the full circle.
