As far as the concept "Wakeing the Dead"is concerned, the first one is clearer to me. I personally love it. The second one is awesome in it's own right. You are very talented and detail oriented and when paired with good conceptual thinking is just downright dangerous. I really like the second piece and I am sure it would have placed high if not first in this last contest. Great job! KP

I had seen the first one and had thought it brilliant and very creative and very well done. Now I see the second one for the first time and I'm very impressed! It looks so amazing! A little masterpiece!

You're obviously very skilled. Very good pieces. The first one is a little too blatantly a photomontage for my taste - but that's a style thing, not an execution thing. The 2nd piece is stronger overall. I don't even think about the execution - I only see the composition. It's excellent - but a little choppy to take it all in. I think the woman opening the door is distracting from the message. I get the illustration's story about an evil child hovering over a corpse being feasted on by vultures - but my eye keeps going back to the woman and wondering who she is and what she's doing. She's collapsing and screaming - but she's not trying the stop the child or reach out to the corpse. Which is she related to? I really don't think she's needed - or if she is, something needs to tie her to the child as hers or the deceased as hers. You don't even need her to demonstrate 'shock' and 'horror'. The gore alone does that for you. It's an incredible piece - just looks like you did one element too much. -Lazarus Chernik, Creative Director Echo-X Illustration
