Description

Compare this "white" lion male with the Barbary lion and note the difference in coloration between male and female. They have cubs hidden in the bush nearby, hence their vigilance: male at full alert and the female with her ears slightly drawn backwards - if you are bush wise in Africa, it means "beware!".

Tomorrow I plan to ulpoad a photo of the couple standing guard near the bush where the cubs were hidden. The photo was captured on a farm Bona Bona where I live.

It is still a bit early, but to all the American friends, happy Thanksgiving tomorrow:" O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever." Ps 136:26

Lastly: Thanks to all the Renderosity friends for your support during trialing times. You love and kindness unequalled. If I failed to respond to all kind messages in person, please forgive me and accept my gratitude.

Woah! Majestic! King and Queen are holding watch over their kingdom. An excellent high quality shot - and very impressive. Having those in your backyard makes you be on your toes, huh?

And now lions in your backyard, too. This is a National Geographic shot. I hope the RR moderators notice this wonderful pic! We have a lot to be thankful for this year, but I'll add your gallery to the list. You are true artist. Hang in there!

Good thing these lions don't live in my back yard. I just love "kitties", and the big, furry male certainly LOOKS like he wants to be petted; and I'd probably be dumb enough to try. My little yellow kitty would only be a bite for that big fella' and I'd only be a small tea sandwich. Still, they're just beautiful animals, and deserve to be petted and cuddled. Too bad they don't agree!! One of my "favorites" so far. Keep 'em comin.

From this photo, it is clear why a group of lions is called a 'pride'. Phenomenal capture of the King of Beasts and his Royal Consort...

Its always amazing to see Lions! The ancestor of the creatures he have in our homes! WONDERFUL!!! The male really is very white - so strange to see (or rather - I have never seen one) Thanks for sharing them and may Ps 136:26 really be true in every sense - even in this difficult time! Hugs 8;o)

Busi Looking at this photo it is fairly difficult to exactly see the species of ant on the anthill in the backgroud, I suppose that wasn't the objective of the photo.. right? Good shot! Had a bit of time to ourselfs posting photos of Lions? Lekke Dag

what a fine male specimen! He seems to still be quite young. Fantastic capture, of a beautifull scene. Sometimes we tend to take for granted what a lot of us see on a frequent basis, but youve done a great job on this scene, bringing to life exacly what its all about in Africa.
