The show must go on The show must go on Inside my heart is breaking My make-up may be flaking But my smile still stays on Queen - "The Show Must Go On"
It was fifteen years ago today that music lost one of its greatest talents and voices in Freddy Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara in Stone City, Zanzibar on September 5, 1946. Just one day earlier, he announced to the world that he had AIDS. Many knew that Freddy was sick, but few people knew just how bad he was. There were rumors, of course. With the death of Ryan White a year and a half earlier and Magic Johnson's announcement that he too was HIV positive two and a half weeks prior, AIDS was no longer something that could be ignored. Even if people didn't know anyone personally who had been infected, many now knew of someone with AIDS. Freddy's death right afterwards was a shock and a surprise to all. We miss you, Freddy. It hasn't been the same without you.
