Cold and bleak, like the world it represented. A monument also to stupidity.

I was just there earlier this month. Very somber place. Nice view of the former Luftwaffe building in the background. I took almost the same picture.

Striking image! A perfect example of pointless human behavior. Great shot. Wonder though if we ever learn from our mistakes. Great shot. Thanks for sharing.

How fascinating to see part of it is left. I grew up with the Berlin Wall being there, hearing the stories of people trying to escape, people separated from family, etc. When it came down I was dumbfounded. I am glad a piece of it remains as a lesson to those who follow... Good photo.

Very loaded with history, it makes me get goose flesh. The solemn grey serves as an excellent backdrop. Excellent reportage.

Good evening, Michel. Superbe capture. I would think it chilling to stand looking upon this scene. I am glad you posted this shot. It is a reminder to all of what happened. And as Frieda says "will we ever learn". I hope so... Have a wonderful evening, I am glad you had this extra day to get out and about, "camera in hands". Hugs, kisses, Bisous. Di Di.

Hmmm. Thought they ripped the whole thing down. Walls are better at keeping things/people inside than keeping things/people outside.
