Description

I wanted to experiment with shaders so i started to build an "Ice" shader from scratch, failure after failure and hours of trying, not to mention all the test renders i had done, i finally got a result which i was more then happy with. It for sure gave me a good insight on how to work and build shaders for my upcoming projects. I had done a bit of post work in photoshop mainly colour corrections and enhancements. Software: Cinema4D R10 & Photoshop CS1 Render Engine: Standard Cinema Render Time: 17m : 55s Enjoy! regards Bastiaan

Nice illustration. I would of put a slight gradient on the background though. From dark brown too black. But that's just me ;)

This definitly goes to show that you aint gotta have a big fancy software package to acheive a terrific render!!I love it!I'd like to get ahold of that shader... I admire you patience and determination to finish with such an excellent shader like this one. Usually I give up after three tries. :) It looks great and very realistic. In contrast to turner (don't I always lol), I think the black background makes you focus even more on the seperation of the icecube, one half in the liqor, one half floating. Sorry, can't find the correct English sentence for the above. :) Anyways, excellent work and my compliments!

Would you please be so kind to add a small Titanic model. I think it would just fit perfectly to the dramatic atmosphere. ;-) Really an outstanding shader you have created there! Bravo!
