Description

By request I've dug around in my Alaska photos from the trip Dana and I took for our 5th Anniversary back in 2002. We cruised the Inside Passage on Holland America's MS Volendam from Vancouver up to Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay & Ketchikan and had a blast. I think that was probably the most fun I've ever had, at least for an extended stretch of time. If you're ever in the market for an Alaska cruise, I whole heartedly recommend Holland America. But enough of the commercial. lol Unfortunately it was fairly overcast most of the time we were there so most of our photos aren't nearly as beautiful as the ones in the brochures...but then again, are they ever? It was amazing to see the blue ice of the glaciers though. Didn't get to see any major calving off any of them, but you could hear the constant crackle of their motion none the less. This is actually two photos stitched together, so hopefully nothing looks too distorted. Thanks for all comments, current and prior. They're always greatly appreciated. John

Dear John, Well - the sun is still shining away - the Earth is still spinning away - and Meredith is still playing catch up!!! (Some things NEVER change!!!) I'm really envious of your inside passge trip!! I've always wanted to do that! It's way up on my list of "gotta do" trips. "Stitched??" Heck, if you hadn't said something no one would ever have known - that's a pretty darn perfect job of puting them together!! You get a BIG tip of my hat!!! Gorgeous picture!! Next time, I want to stow away!!! Love ya!! Meredith
