Hi All, I started out using Bryce, Poser, Photoshop and every other arty program I could get my hands on back in the early 90's but sort of dropped off doing much these past few years. I spend 40+ hours a week in front of a computer at work and somehow tinkering at home just lost it's appeal. But this past july, in the face of my 40th birthday, my need to "get creative again" got the better of me and I am back! I have resolved to make one publishable artwork per day. I did this because I know from experience that without some sort of deadline I tend to overwork pieces to the point where I won't publish them because they irritate me (and they never will be "perfect"). I don't expect that I get a masterpiece every day but I feel pretty good about what I have done these past few months. Occasionally I go back and rework an older image so I always welcome feedback, especially any suggestions for improvement.

Nice bit of work. The foreground is great. It would be nice if the water has ripples in it but that might be very hard to do even in postwork. If you have a wading pool, you might want to fill it up and observe how the water looks. The toys on the ground don't cast any shadows but maybe thats the viewpoint. The light is coming in from the foreground so the shadows should stretch to the background but I don't know how long they would be. The background needs a bit of work, the water is grainy. Maybe you would be better off with removing the background and replacing it with a bunch of foliage? Do you need all that background? The black duckling looks cute but it does not have any eyes, maybe you might want to tweak its textures so we can see it has eyes. Would also move the camera so the wading pool is not clipped by the edge of the picture but maybe thats a style thing. Clipped things seem less important.
