Description

All in UF except the small drawings with PSP! The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), published in 1943, is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's most famous novel. Ostensibly a children's book, it makes several profound and idealistic points about life and love. In it, Saint-Exupéry imagines himself stranded in the Sahara Desert, thousands of kilometers away from inhabited places, where he meets a young extra-terrestrial (though entirely human-appearing) prince. In their conversations, the author reveals his own views about the follies of mankind and the simple truths that people seem to forget as they grow older. The essence of the book is contained in the famous line uttered by the fox to the Little Prince: "On ne voit bien qu'avec le cur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux" (It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye). There are also two other main points in the book, both spoken by the fox. They are: "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed" and "It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important". Throughout the book the children's view on the world, on the main points of the human life and relations between people, which is represented by the Little Prince and partially by the narrator, is set off against the "grown-ups'" one, revealed in memories of the narrator and in the characters, met by the Little Prince on asteroids. But the author underlines, that the "grown-ups" are like that. One must not hold it against them. Children should always show great forbearance toward grown-up people." (I got all this interesting information from internet, I bet you like it). I was just thinking that this book is one of the most beautiful presents we can do.... maybe a Xmas present... Please never loose the child you have inside! Elizabeth ;O)

Your drawing resembles much that of Exupy Saint, who was a piommier not only as an aviator, but as a writer. Its death has us emphto know it. In France, it is an icon, and one it deisgne easily under the name of "Saint Ex"!!! Thank you for its Elizabeth memory!

Very unusual for you and in that way a big surprise of a high quality. Of course I immediately recognized it as a picture especially designed for children. Nevertheless the detailed story you provides here is very interesting. Lovely work!

Awwww one of my favourite stories of all time, since I was in grade 2! They played the recorded narration to us about once a week for a while in elementary school when I was a bit older also. I've been thinking for weeks if and how I could do Le Petit Prince in Poser and still not sure what to use as a base character and for hair. Very lovely picture, you've rendered it well and gave me goosebumps with your text lol
