Description

600th Upload... I've decided to start this milestone upload with a small series of snow shots. We've been in a deep freeze for the last few days and I wanted to share this rare event with you all. The little snow we do get here on the island doesn't usually last very long, and is typically followed by rain, so it makes capturing it a real challenge. So when we recently got the "arctic blast" from the north, it's been very cold for several days. And the snow has stayed for us to enjoy and photograph, and I'm so happy!!!! I'd also like to take this moment to express my thanks and appreciation to all, for the wonderful support and encouragement I've received from this eclectic family!!! You've all been an inspiration to me in many ways and I truly have enjoyed my past 3 years here @ RR!!!!! I can only hope that I've been some sort of inspiration to you as well. I hope you enjoy this series... Akemi

Beautiful - the frosting on the branches & the gradations of colors in the sky reminds me of Japanese woodcuts of snow scenes. Congratulations on your milestone, Akemi & yes, you have been an inspiration...

Congrats on your 600th post! Yes indeed---you have been a great inspiration to me and I have enjoyed all your photos. This is a beautiful trees covered with snow. Glad you are enjoying this snow event where you are. I can remember snow one winter on Camano Island when I was a child. A very damp and wet snow. Back here the snow is dry and fluffy when it comes. Possibly we may get snow within the next couple days. We shall see. P.S. Sorry for the ebots. I had to correct my spelling. :))

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AKEEEEEEEEEEEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! WHOOO HOOOO FOR YOU!!!! What a grand shot to be celebrating this occassion. I absolutely love the peach hue in the horizon, telling it was taken in the morning sometime. I am no fan of snow ever since my accident last winter...but now as im seeing more and more snow-photos in the gallery i actually cant wait till we get some of that white stuff as well. Have a wonderful day and look forward to seeing 600 photos and more from you. #:o)

It is wonderful to see how the snow accentuates the forms of the trees. This is so beautiful and so well composed. I wonder when snow will come to us. Late this year, it seems. You did super here!!!

A huge congrats to you on the big 6-O-O! Your work is an ispiration and a visit to your gallery is always a breath of fresh air and creative recharge! The gradation of colors here is really something and snowy braches make me think of cappillaries. Excellent use of negative space.
