Description

Ultrafractal 4.03 Had a real problem deciding on a title for this one. Originally, I was calling it "Pie in the Sky" - mostly because of the fractal "apple" and because I was hoping Joie or one of my sisters would bake an apple pie for THANKSgiving - lol Then I decided I wanted a more positive vibe and got the notion of a bright, sunny morning, a young student bringing an apple for the teacher and the fact that, when we are very young, our futures are limitless and our path is ever upward into the skies, At least that's how I remember feeling all those years ago. Sadly, as we get older, many times we lose sight of that innocent optimism that propelled us thru life. Here's hoping we all can think back and recapture at least a bit of that feeling and realize that THESE will be the "good old days" tomorrow.... :-) Thanks for stopping by!...(and don't give me that story about how "the dog ate yer homework" and get going b4 you miss the bus! lol) Rick ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints are also available*** :-)

I really don't know what to say. It's beautiful. Shouldn't you be in the "arts department"? ^_~

Very cool!! And yes, I remember the "good" old days without computers, cell phones, DVDs, or teflon. I also remember the optimism of having your whole life still ahead of you, and I sometimes remember to remind myself, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!" Thanks for sharing :)) Cornelia

I hope you got your apple pie... you deserve it for this playful yet masterfully composed painting. The colors work beautifully together (I love that sun:) and the diagonal divider adds interest, as does the shape at the top. I also like the "quilted" look to some of your elements here. Well done, Bro!

Ohhhhhhhhh, I agree with Panny! Sweet and innocent, whimsical and hopeful. Love the embossed feel and the cheerful colors. You should have come to my Thanksgiving, I made an apple pie and 2 kinds of pumpkin pies! :)

What a beautiful, colourful, positive image. Love the story of it's evolution from Pie in the Sky (which is kinda negative) to the very positive, hopeful Path to Higher Learning.

Man Rick! You just flow seamlessly into different styles without ever loosing that RYKK magic :) The coloring is very direct and powerful and the composition makes for a beautiful action. I love how that yellow arch leads into the black curve between the brown and vivid those teals are. Awesome ART.

Apple pie - yes- But apple and blackberry pie, Yes,Yes. It's an autumn thing, of course. Like your image, but crop off the top, down to the uppermost black triangle on the right side, and the composition gains a different clarity. The sun becomes boss but that path no longer snakes to the edge. Ah well, just intended to provoke a little thought. Sorry!

Whimsical image with coloring book shapes and Crayola colors. Child-like and innocent look with sophistication in the composition.

It is truly a fantastic creation! It does have a positive vibe to it. I am not sure what everyone else is seeing, but the figure to the right of the sun and left of the two little triangles looks to me like a person enjoying the sun and just happy to be a live. Wonderfully chosen colors and concept!
