Gee you do have huge airports in your part of the world. We are lucky if we have two or three runways here in New Zealand. This makes a great pattern from afar. Great shot from the aircraft.

I thought two things when I saw .. the Nasca lines, and crop circles! This is a fantastically wonderful picture and I am SO glad you decided to post it instead of keeping it back!

I almost landed here in GoogleEarth while looking for white Settlement which is by the smaller airport where the P-51's with cheaper propellors were made. It is just to the West, once one gets oriented and can return to see the improvements in the people mover and new terminals for guiding one's visitors to a safe pickup here.

Dear Richard, This picture really puts me in a difficult position - - I can either be a blond and talk about the neat lines, probably crop circle things made by aliens - and maybe relate a few sexual encounters with aliens that I've read about in the tabloids - - Or - - I can say that the runway at the top is 17L if you are landing left to right and 35R if landing right to left - and that it's 8500 feet long, 150 feet wide, limited to 488,944 pounds for air carrier operations, but 850,000 for other stuff, CAT 2 ILS both ends, but only 17L has PAPI, and is used for general aviation all the time and air carrier ops (mostly 737's and smaller) during peak periods. You can see my dilemma! Probably best to just stick with the alien sexual encounters and avoid ending up a smarty pants!!! Love ya!! Meredith
