This is my first try of creating the hair to look real :)bear with me :)

Hmm, good first attempt with this method. But you need to use also the dodge and burn with the same brush type to make the single hair strands.

A nice first attempt, keep working at it. You obviously have the right idea and the rest will come with practice and experimentation. Well done.
