Description

This beautiful mansion is the future offices (that is one of my dreams/plans anyway) of my past and present endeavors over this past 30 years, to build a major media production facility alongside a "fast-track University, to train people in, develop and produce the next generation in entertainment... "immersive entertainment." This home was built by the Whitaker family of Halifax County, here in North Carolina, back toward the end of the 18th century. Construction began in 1789, I am not certain of the original completion date, but I believe it took just about 3 years to build. This home features 8 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 11 fireplaces, both a formal and an informal dining area, a huge modern kitchen (approximately 800 sq. feet), a formal living room, a den, a grand entryway and a huge open room (1200 sq. feet) on the top floor, and various other rooms (i.e. a utility room, a pantry, 1/4 basement, etc.). All of the rooms on the first floor have 12 foot ceilings, with 9 foot ceilings on the second floor, and seven foot ceilings on the top floor. The home sits on 500 acres of prime land, buffered on all sides by tall-standing trees. The driveway from the nearest road, up to the house is 0.5 miles long. Incidentally, I am currently in the process of moving to the town of Whitakers, named after the same family that built this fine home, and located about 8 miles from this home. Thanks for looking, have a marvelous day!

Beautiful architectural shot. A bit over the top calling it castle, though! :) Mansion covers it better.
