Description

Something simple for a change. The print of the duck was from a linocut I made when I was 11 or so. It was an piece of old patterned floor lino, not a proper thickish piece of artist's brown lino, and was glued onto a block of wood to make it roughly type-high. We then printed it off on an Adana hand press. The scan shows the variation in colour we achieved by dabbing the block with different colours so that (to start with) each print was different. The card was finished off with a piece of wool threaded through two cuts each side of the neck to make a scarf. The only addition I've made here to the original is a scarf created in Photoshop.

I really like this - but then I've a special fondness for printing. I hope the duck's a pet-type present - I'd hate to think of him prepared for the table! Mike

What is the deal with the ebots, only getting about 1 in 5. I did Linoleum block carvings in Typesetting classes in Vocational Jr High back in the mid 60s, both are kind of a lost art these days. 5+5 Peace
