Description

Hello all. My name is Matthew Schultz. Some of you may recognize me as the artist FreedomOfExpression, who left making fractals to concentrate on going to school and work. After not running Ultra Fractal (still version 3 even - my apologies to Frederik Slijkerman, who I bothered quite frequently to release version 4, but never bought it...I will soon) since leaving, I found myself lost on even where to begin. I remembered the basic ideas, but none of my favorite formulas, and none of my little tricks that allowed me to really produce art. Lacking that, I had to start from square one, looking at other art, formuli, and doing trial and error to get somewhere. The result is a bit different from my previous work. This, combined with my different view of fractal art and my goals in producing it have lead me to create a new artist profile, and let the old one pass on until it is deleted. This name also reflects my pseudo business name, Abstract Approach Digital Solutions (like many others here, I a web developer). The old one was created to reflect the original name of my fractal art website, which no longer exists (it hasn't for a very long time, and isn't coming back any time soon). So anyways, with that said, here is the first image posted under the new name. //Matt -PS: Critical comments are strongly encouraged. I always want to learn. Don't hold back anything.

Wonderful abstract image with a touch of cubism throw in for good measure. Great colors and textures!

A thought-provoking image which repays considerable study. The colours are great, and the contrasts between the curves and angular lines makes for interest. Wouldn't care to criticise though your new name might prove to be a limitation (never - you'll stray as the imagination takes you!). You've also supplied a very generous size for the "zoomer."

Welcome back, Matt! It's nice to see you posting again. Great textures and good use of 'difference' to create a fluidity. It's interesting to start all over after a hiatus :)
