Description
I don't make this as often as I used to when I lived in Sweden, mostly because it doesn't exist here in the same way. But it happens a couple of times a year that I put together an Open Sandwich Cake or a Smorgastarta as the Swedish name is for it. It's one of those things that most people outside Sweden don't understand how you can eat, but believe me, it's nummies. Either you it or you hate it though ;)
The piccie above is a macro of the one I made this summer for one of our picnics. The only thing I wouldn't put on it over here is shrimps, mostly because they're so difficult to find fresh.

...and there was no invites? I just ate a while ago, and this makes me hungry. Be a great recipe book shot.Or for a restaurant's menu. As long as that salmon is fresh caught....then it is yummies.Spoiled here on the west coast for the king salmon though.
