Description
Created in bryce touched up in photoshop. I was trying to make an impact looking from space. I don't think I did the world's greatest job on it, but I would like some comments on how to improve it.

The comet in the foreground looks great, though I think you should move it to the left and down slightly so it frames the earth rather than covers it. I'd weaken the firey tail on the comet which has impacted the earth, makin it more transparent (for the explosion on the planetary surface to be so large, the comet must have impacted a while ago so the bulk of its mass has already reached the surface. There would only be straggling gasses following it). The explosion has edges which are too sharp, should be more hemispherical. The shockwave in the atmosphere is awesome, you could even make it a bit stronger so as to be more noticeable.

Actually I think you did a terrific job!! Verdie : )

You could try to improve the explosion. It's too 'square' right now. Try a more realistic explosion.. The rest is awesome.

Its quite good actually. I see you made a slight shockwave travelling through the atmosphere which is realistic but with such an impact of this magnitude, try making the atmosphere closer to the impact more displaced and pushed farther up into space. Also, instead of a yellow flare and rays from the impact center, try a brighter flare using white rays.

You know, I hate it when this happens to earth! Good job!
