To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather

Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

Mina, glad to be Numero Uno to marvel at your perfect match to the poem.

At this point Id say its working very wellThe background blends into a soft 2 dimensional plane with great atmosphere that feels very dream like, I wouldnt do mush more to it. The problem seem to me to be with the separation of the central character from the background, it could use a bit more definition .at the risk of sounding like my old drawing teacher, Id punch up the lights and darks a bit and give my character a little more clarity. All in all though, I really like the work and the idea.Gold star here..:0)

One cannot know all the poets of the world, the French anthology rocked my secondary studies, but your table dear friend would be a beautiful illustration of a poem of MAllarmor of Guy of Maupassant... When the hour sounds, nobody poor or rich can pretext his fortune, of his culture, of his work, to defer some moment there. With my age while dreaming, one lives with this feeling!

Personally I think this is your best piece yet, Great work!

Excellent depiction of the journey into what Earnest Hemingway referred to as the "nada." It appears that Whitman confronted it first. Well done!!!
mamabobbijo
How perfectly suited to the lines from Whitman. The soul you've depicted is so amorphus it can be any age,sex or age as it travels forth, it could be anyone who views it, so I'd say it is finished. At least it appears that way from here. Thanks for sharing BJ

This is a mesmerizing piece, draws you into it .. Whitman's words seem to weave in and out of it. This has a presence, it is ethereal. Beautiful.

Excellent Mood capture, and I haven't read Whitman in quite a while. Thanks for the verse.

That silvery/bluish/white glow overlay looks almost impossible to merge cleanly with the sepia background - I'd be pulling my hair out over that, too! Did you purposely choose those shades or is that where what you were trying to do led you...? I think you did about as well as can be expected with that combo. If you can find a way to make her stand out just a bit more and still maintain the soft and ethereal overall feel of the piece...?
danger_boy
beautiful, i love the combination of poetry and visual :D
