Description
Unfortunately I don't scuba so my marine photography attempts are kept above water. Even if I had an underwater kit, it would be difficult to get this close as I did in the aquarium. What a lovely fish, unfortunately also very venomous. If you ever have the misfortune of getting stung by a Lion fish, immerse the wound in very hot water (as hot as you can handle) for about 30 minutes. The venom is comprised of thermolabile proteins which are vulnerable to heat and denature quite easily.
So if you are into aquariums and want a Lion fish, please handle with care! First aid lesson over. LOL. BTW: They are edible if you exclude the spines. I think I'll just stay behind the glass for now. Enjoy!
