Description

I spent quite some time near the lions recently and I believe I can now photograph the cubs without having the lioness upset. It is wonderful to see the way they communicate and while I had been in the vicinity the lioness did not allow them to play and thus they stayed rooted in the grass. The lioness dozed off regularly in the heat giving me a more relaxed opportunity to take the photographs.

Have a super week wherever you are!

How wonderful! I have a wanna-be lion in my house. His name is Scratchy. He is one of my subjects. You're a very lucky man to have such subjects to photograph. I thank you dearly for sharing your passion with others. Good day to you. - Teresita

Fine collage of the family, evidently enervated from the heat. At least that may explain why the cubs aren't frolicking all over the place.

Amazing, Piet. You did a superb shot. Though I don't really get the urge to pet one of these little ones - it is amazing how similar the mimics and poses are to our run of the mill house cat. Cheers

Just wonderful. These photos gives you the feeling of "It's hug a cub week!" Guess that's not such a great idea. What an amazing time you had taking these incredible shots. So glad you did not become their supper!

What beautiful "family" photos. Thank you for sharing with us who never will see such animals except in a zoo. It's too bad they need to learn to keep humans at a distance. It would be so easy to become their friends, if only they would let us do so. Guess it would be too much of a gamble for them, tho, since all humans wouldn't be satisfied to shoot them only with cameras. Sure would like to pet those little guys, but not williing to lose my arm.

En ons ry altyd verby die plek. Ag jis! Die ou klein goedjies is net te cute vir woorde! Dankie dat die Oom hulle met ons deel ne!

All five pictures are real masterpieces ! The light is just perfect... When seeing such wonderful images, I'm starting to dream again of a photos safari in deep Africa.... they really don't look as wild animals... it would even think they are cute !! Take care, Oom Piet ! :~)
