"First they came for the Jews, and I said nothing..." Bravo. This is wonderful work--both well executed and meaningful. And bravo for you, too, for caring enough about your friend to create this for him.

Nice image. The story, as sad as it may be, is something that can not be helped. Especially in his case. Hate to say it, but he knew the rules when he joined. His friends knew them as well. I am an Air Force member, and even though I do not agree with that particular regulation I can not bring myself to feel sorry for people that get kicked for violating it.

You know, the image itself is great, and Im not surprised to see the "well, thats the rules" response. I guess this member doesnt care to remember when blacks were segregated into separate platoons from whites and how it took rewriting the archaic rules to address that. Countries around the world, from Israel to Sweden, allows gays into their military without blinking an eye. Its only the repressed US that makes this into the non-issue that it truly is. And that comes from one who spent three years in the US Navy.

Speaking as someone who spent 12 years in the Army and didn't tell, but I loved what I was doing and was damned good at it, this is a great image and nice work. Also greatly appreciated.

What they all said... good work, excellent tribute! One can only hope that the US "wakes up" one day. [sigh]

Thank you all for your feed back and input. This was a personal piece and I was not sure at first if I wanted to tell the story that went with it, but I am glad I did. Even the most "negitive" comment was Positive in it's way. SO, you will see lots more for me in the future, fantasy, sci-fi and personal.

Having seen a loyal Navy Reserve Commander thrown out for telling the truth in her security interview... and my own partner lived with the same fear when she was in the Army... THANK YOU
