Wow - very early M4 (without updates - not a combat vehicle ?). Canadian dry pin track not used on American models. I like the stowage fitments.

That does look like a maple leaf on the front. Interesting with the white star on the turret and hull. Would Canadian troops have used a star?

She's a fine looking "battle taxi" and I'm glad the folks in Portsmouth keep this Sherman looking great. @weesel: Yes, all the western Allies used the white star for recognition during the 1944 campaign in France. It drifted away in British and Canadian use because it made such a good target for German gunners. U.S. tankers frequently painted the stars over or muddied them up for the same reason. I also suspect that the British, Canadian and Free French didn't like having a U.S. star on their vehicles whether they were American made or not.
