Description

It was cold and windy this morning when I saw this fella feeding. I just grabbed my coat and cam, stepped out the door, and crept up behind a bush. I'm surprised I got any clear shots at all with the telephoto lens, and I was shivering from the cold. I need to set up a blind of some sort, so that I can sit down and experiment with the manual settings, and try to get a more natural setting. I don't have many critters in my yard, just squirrels and birds. But I need to learn more about the manual settings before I go to a zoo or park, as I really would like to get better focus and more clarity. I never know whether to leave my glasses on or take them off, and if I am getting good focus with my glasses off. These sure are greedy little critters. They can empty a feeder in three days while leaving a mess on the ground and keeping the birds away. But at least they are something to practice on. Awwwwwwww. cute but someone brought your squirrels over to the UK a couple of centuries ago and they devastated our native red squirrel population because they couldnt compete with your greys. They can only be found now on our surrounding islands and in Northern Scotland.
