Description
He brightened visibly when he saw me; involuntarily, I smiled in response, as he waved me over to sit in the place of honor, at his right hand. I strode across the hall toward him, trying to pay as little attention as possible to the visiting noblemen and their wives, many of whom had stopped their various conversations in order to watch my passage through the enormous room. I wondered what they had heard about me, with mingled unease and amusement, until I was distracted by the sight of Catherine, who was seated on Morgan
