Description

With the TG2 preview out this week and after my post in the forum, I got a little nostalgic recognizing that soon Terragen 0.9XX will be no more. So, here is what will likely be my last render with this program. It has given me many hours of enjoyment over the past few years....farewell my friend. Pure, 100% Terragen...the only postwork is sharpening. Enjoy!

I had recently the same feelings with the "old" TG 0.9.xx. Very nice render, I will wait for your future works with the new TG2.

Aw - I wouldn't be too hasty to kiss 0.9XX goodbye just yet - lots of us will still be using it for some time to come. Excellent classic render!

I'll echo Rich in his caution on being too hasty. Apparently T2 (and the Tech Rev) will be more like working in a traditional 3d landscaping environment, a la Vue or Bryce, and the 0.9xx Terragen with its unique surfacing application will still have its pull. Take a look at your excellent surfacing in this image, it has a unique and special beauty which will be hard to replicate with the appliance of mats in the conventional way of doing things.

I hope what we have learned with TG will be of benefit with TG2. However, I expect we'll be back to square one ...it should be fun! As always, your Terragen work is yours alone ...truly signature 'Gradient' work here ...beautiful!

Nah...never say never....your rays still rain supreme...will TG2 do them any better...I doubt it. You will use TGO...O for original....again...you must. TG2 will be fun but, I feel too different from the original...I will use both...I still love terragen...its special. Wonderful TGO render...hope to see more :)

Excellent image - but like many have already said, I wouldn't wave goodbye to good old 0.9 just yet - from what I've seen the TG2 Technology Preview is a very different beast.

The atmo, pov, and surfacing are all stunning. Your work with terragen is very inspiring, and it will be interesting to see what you'll create in TG2. Hope you have an excellent day.
